Episode 150: A Caring Series: Caring for Self

Episode 150: A Caring Series: Caring for Self

In this first episode of a 3-part series, we focus on Caring for SELF and why it's essential for Thriving, Resilient, and Unstoppable (TRU) leaders.

We know most healthcare leaders have a limiting belief that self-care is selfish.  In fact, we've been indoctrinated to put ourselves last in the lists of our priorities.

The thing is, if you overfocus on "Others" to the neglect of caring for "YOU", you'll experience negative consequences and end up feeling burnt out, exhausted, and your needs go unmet.

In this podcast, we share WHY you need to be cared for first, what we have learned personally and professionally, and some great SELF CARE action steps to care for you.

We also talk about some of the leader's limiting beliefs about self-care and why prioritizing yourself is important.

In this episode, you’ll hear:

04:44 - Leaders’ limiting belief about self-care

05:51 - About what you may think regarding beliefs

07:09 - The negative outcomes of over-focusing on Others

09:01 - The definition of selfish

12:49 - About Michelle’s secret tips for caring for SELF

16:11 - About Tracy’s secret tips for caring for SELF

18:52 - Some other action steps to care for SELF

20:09 - Reflection questions about your beliefs on self-care
